Connecting to the guidance, wisdom and healing
available to us from the Tree and Crystal Kingdom, these workshops
are based around the Celtic Tree Calendar which was a Lunar Calendar
incorporating thirteen lunar cycles each of which was governed by
a particular tree and it's attributes.
Working with the Guardians of the Trees and Crystals, we will journey
throughout the year connecting to each of the thirteen trees and
exploring the gifts of healing and guidance that each can offer
not only in the physical but also on the mental, emotional and spiritual
levels.
Although each weekend is complete within itself, by attending the
whole series of four, you will be participating in a very powerful
spiritual journey.
The course is designed to help you re-connect and attune on a deeper
level to the natural world around you. It will involve the use of
guided meditation, making vibrational healing elixirs, understanding
and exploring the magical and spiritual connections of the trees,
releasing creative blocks and reconnecting with your intuition and
powers of divination through the making of ogham sticks, incense,
poetry and art. Learn about the forgotten culinary uses of some
of the fruits and leaves, their uses as dyes and inks as well as
their power to protect, inspire and heal.
We begin the year in January although the actual Celtic Calendar
begins on December 24th which is also the start of the first of
five seasons, the Burgeoning Season. In this workshop we meet Beth,
Luis and Nion which are the Silver Birch, Rowan and Ash. This is
a time of preparation, releasing and clearing. The longest night
is past and, although still gripped by the grey of winter , it is
time to look forward and plan for the year ahead , building on the
experiences and lessons learned in the previous year.
In the Second workshop we meet Fearn, Saille and Uath; the Alder,
Willow and Hawthorn. The season has moved on and we are in the middle
of the Celtic Spring when the earth is breaking open and the flowers
and leaves are bursting forth in profusion. The days are lengthening
and the sun in it's ascendancy. The darkness of the winter evenings
is forgotten as new life is released upon the face of the earth.
There is new vision and hope as the lifeblood once more courses
through the earth's arteries, the wells, springs, rivers and oceans
feed and nourish the planet upon which all depend.
Our third workshop takes place towards the end of the Ripening
season and the beginning of the Harvest. The sun has reached its
zenith and the earth abounds with the fullness and richness of the
ripening fruits. At this time of the year we observe the ritual
handing over of the incoming king to the outgoing king - Duir making
way for Tinne or in modern language, the Oak king, who rules the
waxing year, giving way to the Holly King who rules the waning year.
The cycle is turning and as the days begin once more to shorten
we confront the fruit of the Coll, or Hazel, which speaks of wisdom
and manifestation. We are approaching the time of harvest when we
reap what we have sown.
The last workshop takes place as we move into the fourth season,
Fall or Fading and as it covers the remaining four trees in the
calendar, it will also embrace the last season- Winter. We meet
Muin, Gort, Ngetal (Peith) and Ruis - The Vine, Ivy, Reed and Elder.
The autumn equinox has come and gone and as we move towards the
winter solstice, it is time to prepare to rest from the labours
of the passing year, to take stock of what has been and review what
has gone. The earth releases her bounty and prepares to incubate
the seeds that have fallen from the harvest, nurturing them in the
depths of her womb until it is time for them to be released once
more into the light of a new year.
Each Weekend costs £80 which includes refreshments but you
will need to bring a packed lunch to share. You will also need to
bring pencil and paper to make notes. If you intend to come to all
workshops, it would be a good idea to purchase a blank book, which
can become your journal for the whole year.
The cost of each workshop is £80 which includes coffee and
biscuits but you will need to bring a packed lunch and writing materials.
Pre- booking is essential together with a deposit of £40 per
weekend. |
