At the moment I am trying to complete a degree with the OU. What has that to do with spirituality you may ask?

Well, quite simply, the same guide who appeared in dreams to give me information on earth healing and druidic mathematics also told me I had to do an English Literature degree! I dismissed this as I was busy with healing/art etc and didn’t feel the need to burden myself with further study. A few years later I found myself enrolled and being inexorably steered towards a degree which majors in Shakespeare and Creative Writing.

Creative Writing I can understand as I’ve always enjoyed penning the odd story and a few lines of verse but the Shakespeare seemed a bit deep! However, I have to say, that not only am I enjoying it but I do feel that it is very relevant to my own spiritual Journey. However, it is occupying a large part of my life and limiting the amount of time I can spend running workshops etc.

In the past I have run workshops which combined releasing creative blocks (such as writing and painting etc) through working with the Goddess energies (particularly Brigid) and empowering meditations, so I think the degree and the accompanying diploma in English Literature and Creative Writing will be relevant. It does create a conflict however, in that I urge everyone to write and ignore fears about grammar and spelling- just to re-connect with their creative powers to express- and I don’t want a formal training to discourage anyone from believing in their own creativity. My poems and stories may not be high literature but they are mine- about me and my thoughts and feelings. This is where creativity becomes a powerful tool on the road to wholeness because it is our individual right to self-expression.

It is an area in which I feel quite passionate and it is interesting that I seem to attract a lot of people who are stifled in their artistic or poetic expression. It is a privilege to be a catalyst for the spiritual realms who help me to encourage and inspire them to pick up pencils, brushes and/or pen.

I hope to share the odd short story or poem on this blog and welcome other potential authors to register if they wish to share their work also.

Healing is not just about laying on of hands and recognised alternative therapies. A good read can inspire, uplift, provoke thought, create laughter and encourage the reader’s own latent abilities, demonstrating the truth that God or whatever your creative source and source of healing is, really does move in ‘Mysterious Ways’

The last workshop was particularly beautiful in the use of crystal sound meditation and the use of my crystal singing bowl. This particular healing tool is becoming a popular tool in my healing armoury.  I use mine intuitionally and with intent. Perhaps other healers who use them may like to share their own perceptions of the singing bowls.

So far all the Magdalene Rose workshops have begun with my own unique version of the Japanese Tea Ceremony and they have also included artwork.
